Product Description

St. John's Wort Oil

Also Known As – Hypericum perforatum, Perforated bush, Hypericum, and Klamath weed.

Origin - Elbe, Washington

Overview - St Johns Wort is a small plant with yellow flowers native to Europe. Its common name refers to St. John's Day, which is June 24 and the usual time of year when the flowers are ready for harvest. This herb has been introduced to many other places in the world, and has been labeled as a noxious weed in many places. It can cause severe side effects in livestock that eat it like photosensitization, depression of the central nervous system, spontaneous abortion and death. This herb is also grown commercially in Europe. Use of St. John's wort as medicine dates all the way back to ancient Greece. Historically, it has also been used as an abortifacient.

We prepare our St. John's Wort Oil from fresh (un-dried) flowering & budding tops of Hypericum perforatum plants, which are Sustainably Wild-crafted in their natural wild habitat along side of the Nisqually River at the Base of Mt. Rainier, Washington.  Our small-batch St. John’s Wort Oil is solar infused using fresh, wildharvested Hypericum perforatum flowers, organic Olive oil. This oil is an excellent accompaniment in the knapsacks of outdoor enthusiasts everywhere.

Suggested use: St. John’s Wort Oil is a wonderful oil for massage, especially where there is soreness, stiffness, and muscle or nerve pain, such as sciatica. St. John’s Wort Oil promotes and speeds the natural healing of burns, wounds, shingles, herpes, and cold sores. Our St. John’s Wort Oil promotes overall optimal skin health and may also be beneficial in protecting the skin from the effects of sun exposure.

To assure optimal extraction of St. John's Wort's rich red pigments, the uppermost tops of the plants are hand-harvested, and then are extracted, while still fresh & succulent, into cold-pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Ingredients: Our St. John's Wort Oil is solar infused in the sun using Organically Grown fresh flowers of St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum), wtih cold-pressed Extra Virgin Olive.

Shake Well Before Using FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY Apply to skin with cotton gauze, or massage into skin until well absorbed.
