Also Known As – Erythroxylum Catuaba
Overview - The bark of this wild relative of the Coca plant (Erythroxylum coca ) is known amongst some Amazonian herbalists as the supreme aphrodisiac for men and women, and has been highly regarded for many generations. It is a mild CNS stimulant that is used to balance and tonify the nervous system. It is used in folk remedies to increase libido, as a cardiotonic, to sharpen memory, and for all manner of nervous conditions including anxiety, insomnia, exhaustion and nerve pain. Clinical studies have revealed Catuaba’s antibacterial and antiviral properties.

Preparations - Catuaba is used in capsules, teas, and tinctures.
Precautions - No toxicity studies have been done at this time but the long history of use in Brazil shows no reported ill effects.
