It is also high in bioflavonoids, which help to strengthen capillaries, 

Red raspberry leaf: Red raspberry leaves have been used in herbal and traditional medicine for centuries to treat anemia. The leaves of the red raspberry are high in both iron and vitamin C. This combination is useful because vitamin C aids in the absorption of iron. The leaves also contain magnesium, an essential mineral that increases concentration of red blood cells and hemoglobin.

Gentian: Herbalists often use gentian root to treat anemia because it stimulates your digestive system makes it easier for your body to absorb iron.
