Linden Leaf and Flowers C/S

Organically Grown USA

Also Known As - Tilia argentum, (Species include Europaea, Americana, and Cordata) Lime Tree, and Bee Tree.

Overview - Tilia is a genus of about 30 species of trees native throughout most of the temperate Northern Hemisphere. Commonly called lime trees in the British Isles, they are not closely related to the lime fruit. Other names include linden and basswood.

Parts used -  Leaves and flowers

Medicinal use -  Linden has been used to induce sweating for feverish colds and infections, reduce nasal congestion, and relieve throat irritation and cough. Linden has sedative effects and has been used to treat nervous palpitations and high blood pressure. It has also been used in lotions for itchy skin.

Preparation - Dried and as a tincture, tea or in capsules. Suggestion to make an herbal tea.

  1. To make the tea steep 1 to 3 teaspoons of the herb mixture in 1 cup of boiling hot water for 5 to 15 minutes.
  2. Strain out the herbs, add honey to taste and drink hot.
  3. Use fewer herbs and steep for less time when making this tea for children.

Precautions - Don’t drink linden flower teas within 2 hours of taking any vitamin and mineral supplement, since the mucilage’s in the tea can interfere with the absorption of nutrients from the supplement.

  6. Amazing product....fresh and fragrant 5 Star Review

Thanks for doing what you do. I try to grow as many of my own medicinal herbs as possible but had to move 300 miles south last year and leave the garden I'd been building on for 5 years. So have to start all over again.

I am appreciative to have access to NW grown organic herbs from you for now, Mountain Maus!
